In 1975 a bomb was planted by FALN, a Puerto Rican revolutionary group, within a dining room at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan. The blast killed four people and wounded fifty others. In 1775 Fraunces roof was partially destroyed by the British Navy. A canon ball blast through the tavern after the British were agitated by American Revolutionaries who had broken into the battery and fired upon them.

The accompanying photograph was taken at Fraunces Tavern, July 2008. The photo is of a wall mural within a dining room at the Tavern. The crack was caused by the blast set off by the FALN bomb of 1975.
